A Year Driven – Month 19

Thank goodness February is a short month. Matt got sick and is still fighting it, and he passed it along to me and I’ve been down for the count too. Juniper managed to pick up a little cough but has avoided the fevers and aches so far, so I’m hoping that is how it stays.

This month we finally got her in for the 18 month wellness check a bit late. She’s tall and skinny. 33 Inches and 23 pounds. If I have my way, she’ll continue the keep that body type like her daddy and avoid my short round one. Nobody would wish this booty on their child trust me.  She’s smarter everyday, though it seems we have what we call smart days and slow days. On smart days she points to all the right body parts and says the words she know and even new ones. On slow days she reverts and essentially acts like we’ve taught her nothing. Thinking about it though, we all have smart days and slow days. She’s such a real human and I love/hate it.

This month I drove up the back roads with no destination in mind. I don’t feel great and didn’t want to get to far from home. I ended up at the Upper Cattle Creek Schoolhouse unintentionally and figured it would do just fine. Katrina with The Smiths Design took our maternity photos there almost two years ago and here we are, letting Juniper run around and slip and slide in the snow. She had fun and we didn’t have to stay out too long in the cold so it worked perfect for me. I have to say, I am really looking forward to some warmer weather so that we don’t have to have her in beanies for all the photos. They are cute, but so is her wacky hair.

Today is Matt’s 31st birthday. Sort of. He’s a leap year babe so today is as close as he get’s to a birthday this year. He’s the best dad a girl could ask for and she adores his every move. She loves pulling the stool over and splashing with him while he does dishes. We haven’t had a dishwasher since 2009. All I know is that the next home we move in to, WILL have one. She will then learn to love loading and unloading instead of splashing. Also, it’s hard to see but we get solid pony tails now and it’s ridiculously cute.
