This month, our drive took us to Rifle Falls state park. It was gorgeous. The falls were still flowing, but with it being 12 degrees when we were out there, a good portion of the falls were frozen. It certainly felt like a winter scene from a movie. It also felt like I couldn’t feel my nose or toes. It was a really easy walk and carried her in the carrier for the first bit, but it was simple enough for her to run around. It Wore. Her. Out. I love trips that do that.
She’s really developing a personality which is proving to be trying. She’s got opinions, and emotions and zero fear. She will climb on top of anything. We’ve found her standing on our dining room table, side tables and using the drawers of her dresser as steps. I watched her crawl off her changing table attached to her crib. It’s about mid torso high on me. She hung off it for a few seconds and then just dropped off. No biggie. She jumps from the couch arm rest to the cushions, in hysterics from the bliss. She will take off down the sidewalk and stand up in the shopping cart. Going out to eat is now a feat that we don’t like to take on. Basically, she’s exhausting and hilarious.
Her vocab is always expanding. She’s got Mama, Dada, Milk, said with great enthusiasm and a drawn out Miiiillllk sound, dog, sit, baby, ball, and maybe more. You know, I’m not the greatest tracker. We are looking forward to preschool come fall. But I bet the teacher’s aren’t… We’ve got one picked out and our name on the waitlist. We are now those people. How bad is that, we are looking forward to 9 months from now when she can start attending? Uh oh.
Eh she’s awesome and I wouldn’t change it. More naps would be nice, for all of us.
Here are some fun shots from our drive. She’s a handful, Enjoy!
