A Year Driven – Month 15

This month I incorporated our monthly drive with our Costco run. I simply ran out of time to make an extra trip. It’s a 30 mile trip one way through the Glenwood Canyon. After we wrapped shopping I headed over to the Eagle River Recreation area that has trails leading to the Eagle River, which runs into the Colorado River. I let her roam the trails all the way down, and tried to keep it quick so my bulk tamales would stay cold. Priorities y’all.

The leaves have all but vanished and there is a Winter Weather advisory in affect today and tomorrow so it’s here and I’m not a happy girl. Blue skies poked through low gray clouds throughout the walk. It was a great quick way to burn off the last of her energy. Or so I thought. She is currently having a breakdown in the living room from what seems to be exhaustion. It’s turning into a nap into the middle of the floor as she is laying at my feet. This kid kills me.

The thing that constantly impresses me about Colorado is the variety of geological landscapes. It’s constantly changing and morphing along every road and around each turn. We truly are lucky!
